The
weather is sunny in the 60’s and they say it will be getting warmer over the
next week. We hope to get off the dock
tomorrow. As we were having coffee in
the salon we heard a boat horn honking madly.
When we looked up we saw a 37 foot Nordic Tug heading for our port side,
head on. The poor woman on the bow was
frantic. We jumped up to fend off the boat.
Fortunately they were moving dead slow because there engine had quit on
their way from the fuel dock to their moorage spot. Absolutely no problem. They are Faye and Herb on m/v
Fellowship. We side tied them to us
while they got the engine going again. We
took this free day to have lunch at the Pub and run errands. We picked up the few things we needed and got
ready to do laundry. We packed
everything up and Fred walked with me to the Laundromat. Oh my gosh!
People are standing in line waiting for a machine. We went back to the boat and I said we would
do laundry on Emerald Star. The washer & dryer were big selling points to
me. Because the 50 amp power cord is
huge and heavy, Fred usually hooks us up to power with 30 amp service. That is usually more than enough. However, the dryer takes either 50 amp
service or the generator turned on. Fred
kindly man-handled the 50 amp cord to power so I could get the laundry
done.
Well that sounded scary.
