Friday, June 29 Squirrel Cove to Blind Channel Resort 3 ¼ hours 40 miles

We decided to stay at Blind Channel Resort for my birthday.  Our cruise was amazingly good.  When we left Squirrel Cove we went through Hole-in-the-Wall narrows and made it just about slack tide.  We were surprised that we didn't see another boat going through the narrows from either direction.  Discovery Channel and Johnstone Straight were quite calm and we had a 2-3 kt push with the tide.. This resort lies in the middle of Mayne Channel and the current can run quite fast through here.  The wind and tide were trying to push us off the dock but between thrusters and some help on the dock we got tied up easily.  Merlin is always quite anxious to get off the boat when he can.  At low tide Blind Channel has a large rocky beach area.  Merlin loves the beach.  He like to play his game of getting into the water up to his knees and pick rocks out of the water and bring them to shore.  Usually they are about 2-3" in diameter.  I would love to know what goes on in his little brain.  We had a great dinner tonight.  Fred had the goulash and I had the wiener schnitzel.  Both were delicious.  This is another family run marina and they do a great job.  However, the restaurant only serves dinner.
