The
weather is all over the place with sun, rain & clouds… The day starts off with coffee and fresh,
huge cinnamon buns. George also makes
breakfast croissants. We aren’t sure
what all this is costing, just putting it on the tab. Mid-afternoon we heard an air gun go off and
then a shotgun. Apparently a black bear
was getting to close to the house. About
an hour later we hear “bear, bear!” There
is a huge brown bear (grizzly) on the shore opposite the marina. He was too far for photos but we all enjoyed
him grazing via binoculars. The day is
free and Fred changed the oil in the generator.
George and Gail have big plans for tonight. They are serving barbequed hot dogs, chili, homemade
buns and dessert. This all got started
around 7 pm. The food was great and
free. After dinner I heard that there
was going to be a horse-shoe contest. I
was wrong. It was a “whore” shoe
contest. Two poles were set up on the
dock and the contestants threw high heeled shoes, red of course. Now the rain decided to start falling
hard. I think most of us decided to take
shelter. We don’t know what the prize was for the contest. At about 9:30 pm George and a few others went
over to a spit of land across from the marina and set off fireworks. They were excellent! The show lasted until 10o pm.
Thank you for the lovely comments. We enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again.
